Sometimes no matter how much training takes place things like this can still happen.
On May 12th, 2007 Deputy Drew Odell was helping the Oklahoma Highway Patrol at
114th and U.S. 412 when his vehicle was struck from behind by another driver. Deputy
Odell and his canine companion came away with no major injuries, but very sore.
